Joel Matip believes the ‘positive experience’ of last night’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea will provide a welcome confidence boost in the Liverpool dressing room.
The Reds brought the curtain down on a difficult January as they came from behind to claim a point through Georginio Wijnaldum’s second-half header.
Jürgen Klopp’s team won just one of nine fixtures last month, and were on a three-game losing streak at Anfield prior to holding the Premier League leaders.
And Matip expects the effects of a morale-boosting result against an in-form opponent to be felt in the coming games.
“We have to take the positives, even if it is only one point,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“I think the supporters saw our courage and that we tried everything and tried to take the game to them.
