Emre Can: I have 15 games to show my strengths

Emre Can has vowed to use the 15 games remaining this season to show his worth to Liverpool after admitting to personal disappointment over his form in 2016-17.

After the midfielder’s Euro 2016 commitments with Germany resulted in a late start to pre-season, his campaign with the Reds suffered early disruption when he sustained an ankle injury in August.

Can was then forced to endure another stint on the sidelines in December due to a knee problem, though he has still clocked up 25 appearances to date in all competitions this term.

The 23-year-old does not believe he has shown his best in those games, however, and is determined to rectify that in the coming months.

“I know that I could play better and score maybe a few more goals, but it was a tough period for me as well,” the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I still [have] 15 games and I can show myself and I can show everyone that I am strong and I am a good player.
