Liverpool’s Dejan Lovren visits specialist in Germany over knee injury


Reds defender having consultations on problem that has ruled him out of last two games

Liverpool are sweating on the fitness of Dejan Lovren with the defender visiting Germany for consultations on his knee injury.

Lovren has sat out the Reds’ last two games and also missed last week’s training camp to La Manga as he received treatment on the problem.

And now the Croatia international has travelled abroad to visit a specialist in an attempt to address the complaint.

While Lovren has not yet been ruled out of Liverpool’s next Premier League game at champions Leicester City on Monday, his fitness will nevertheless be a concern for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Lovren’s partnership with Joel Matip is regarded the first-choice centre-back pairing for Liverpool with the duo unbeaten in the top flight when starting together.
