Klopp: There’s no doubt about our attitude

There should be no doubt about the attitude of Liverpool’s players, insisted Jürgen Klopp after they again saw off a top-six rival at the weekend.

Arsenal were put to the sword at Anfield as the Reds provided immediate amends for the preceding disappointment of defeat against Leicester City.

First-half goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane laid the foundation for victory over the Gunners, which was finally sealed through Georginio Wijnaldum in stoppage-time.

Next up is a home clash with Burnley, who inflicted a first defeat of the season on Klopp’s men back in August, and the manager once more sounded the call for greater consistency.

“I don’t want to make it too philosophical – it is obviously the case we are inconsistent,” he said.

“I know we don’t have to doubt the attitude, and the kind of attitude we usually are looking for was here against Arsenal; they were really motivated and you cannot play like this if you have any issues.

“But we struggled in other games. So, OK, you [the media] say it is about quality and sometimes probably, yes, we don’t have the quality.
