Liverpool vs Burnley Preview: Will the Turf Moor Debacle be Banished?

Liverpool will be wrestling with inconsistency as they look to continue their hunt for a top four place this Sunday, with a hime fixture against Burnley.

The rampant Reds defeated Arsenal last weekend with a style and brand of football that’s not been seen enough since the turn of the year, winning 3-1. That made it two wins in three after the victory over Spurs a few weeks back, but the defeat to Leicester City squeezed in-between highlights the inconsistency that’s plagued Liverpool throughout the season. It’s the inconsistency which has seen them fall out of the top four places, and the inconsistency which must be brought to a swift end.

Burnley have been a model of consistency all season. Their home form has been impeccable, kick-started by a 2-0 win over Liverpool on the second weekend, the Clarets’ results at Turf Moor have lifted them to 12th, nine points clear of the drop zone. They’ve been even more consistent away from home, albeit for the wrong reasons. Managing just two points away, Burnley have the worst record in the division when travelling, and still haven’t won at another teams ground yet.
