Liverpool entertain Burnley on Sunday afternoon, hoping to dispel the myth that the Reds are incapable of beating defensive-minded sides.
Liverpool vs. Burnley
Sunday, March 12, 2017 – 4:00pm (GMT)
Referee: Craig Pawson
A Premier League clash with Burnley in March shouldn’t feel massive, but it really does.
These are the games Liverpool have struggled in on numerous occasions this season, failing to win and ultimately sending the fanbase into meltdown.
The hope is that the appalling showing at Leicester City last month ends up being a post-La Manga anomaly, and that a refreshed, relatively injury-free squad now start dispatching of the lesser sides.
Burnley have, incredibly, managed to pick up just two points on the road this season, so failure to overcome Sean Dyche’s side would represent an almighty blow.
Liverpool should have too much for their opponents under the Anfield lights, and we will hopefully see some of the magic that ripped Leicester, Hull City and Watford to shreds at home earlier in the campaign.
Three points would cause one huge sigh of relief among Reds supporters, and heighten their chances of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.
