Liverpool have achieved their first objective for the season by ensuring they have something to fight for at the business end of the campaign, according to Jürgen Klopp.
The German now wants to see his side giving everything in the hard-fought battle for Champions League qualification over the course of the four games that remain.
The Reds currently occupy third place in the Premier League, a point ahead of fourth-placed Manchester City, who have the same cushion over local rivals Manchester United in fifth. Both teams have a game in hand.
And Klopp is relishing the challenge he and his team face as they attempt to secure a return to Europe’s top table.
He said: “I think when we met here months ago at the beginning of the season, when we were first or second in the table and all that stuff, I said the only thing we can do is to be in the battle for the interesting positions at the end of the season.
“The end of the season is now, of course, it is the last month of the season and we are in the battle. So what else do we want?
