‘Don’t think ‘what if?’, be positive’: Klopp’s message to fans ahead of Boro

Jürgen Klopp wants Liverpool fans to head to Anfield on Sunday in vocal mood and confident of beating Middlesbrough to secure a top-four finish – and doesn’t want anyone thinking ‘what if?’ ahead of the game.

The Reds will seal a place in the Champions League qualifiers for 2017-18 if they pick up three points against an already-relegated Boro side.

And Klopp is eager for supporters to arrive at Anfield for one last time this season with complete faith their team will finish the job.

Asked what his message for fans ahead of the game is, the manager told Liverpoolfc.com: “Nothing special, actually. When I started here I said we had to change from doubters to believers and I think now we have a few days before the game, so look forward to it, be positive.

“If somebody comes to you and says ‘but if…’ – and that’s not the most used words in and around Liverpool – but if, then send him out, say ‘come on, go away, I don’t want to hear about it’.
