Robbie Fowler hopes Liverpool have saved their most memorable game of the season until the final day.
The Reds host Middlesbrough at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, with the battle for third and fourth place in the Premier League to be decided between Jürgen Klopp’s side, Manchester City and Arsenal.
A win over already-relegated Boro would be enough for the home team to book a spot in the qualifiers of the 2017-18 Champions League at a minimum.
Fowler will be watching on from Shanghai, where the latest edition of the LFC World roadshow is currently taking place, and would appreciate a comfortable viewing experience.
“I’m hoping the game of the season is going to be this weekend,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.
“We as Liverpool fans want the club to be in the Champions League. I’m not going to be madly celebrating it, because I don’t think we should be. Winning leagues is totally different.
“But let’s be excited and let’s hope that the game of the season is this weekend, where we have a comfortable win – fingers crossed – and let’s not put the fans through too much.”
